IT Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The Premier League is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their Technology Operations team. This role involves supporting and managing on-premises and cloud infrastructure, servers, and systems, participating in project work, and acting as an escalation point for the ServiceDesk. The engineer will also engage with Security and Development teams to support and deliver new solutions.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain on-premises and cloud infrastructure
• Integrate on-premises infrastructure with modern cloud services (print, AV, WiFi)
• Manage network switches and wireless infrastructure
• Administer network access control, firewalls, routers, and VPNs
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot network issues
• Manage internet connectivity and virtual WAN
• Ensure secure and high-performance connectivity between multi-region offices and cloud systems
• Install, configure, and maintain virtual servers
• Implement and configure systems and services
• Manage server and systems updates and patches
• Manage Service Desk escalations and provide second/third-line support
• Collect feedback and engage with clients to improve end-user experience
• Guide users through adoption and change management
• Setup, configure, and manage SaaS solutions
• Implement and maintain backup solutions
• Test recovery processes regularly and align with RPO/RTO targets
• Assess technology requirements for new hub offices
• Coordinate with service providers to procure and establish necessary IT infrastructure
• Configure and support network, workstation, and AV/VC equipment
• Use tools to monitor and report uptime, performance, and resource usage
