Job summary

Seeking an IT professional for the development of a Discovery Index using Apache SolrCloud, Kubernetes, and Linux. Role involves coordinating Kubernetes cluster setup, developing indexing processes, and optimizing performance in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Completed university degree in computer science or equivalent
• Several years of experience in operating Linux-based production environments
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Knowledge of Apache Solr, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies
• Good knowledge of Java and experience with build/deployment processes preferred
• Knowledge of bibliographic data formats, especially MARC21, is an advantage
• German language skills at least B2 level

Responsibilities

• Coordinate setup and administration of BareMetal Kubernetes cluster
• Coordinate operation and development of Apache SolrCloud infrastructure
• Develop SolrMarc-based indexing and data processes
• Develop and adapt Java-based components and indexing logic
• Integrate and manage relational data storage for bibliographic metadata
• Optimize performance, monitoring, and capacity
• Develop backup, recovery, and operational processes
