IT Security & Cloud Engineer (m/w/d)

Job summary

The IT Security & Cloud Engineer will be responsible for a secure, modern, and globally scalable IT environment, focusing on Microsoft 365, Cloud-Security, and information security. This role involves developing security concepts, protecting sensitive research and patient data, and ensuring the M365 landscape remains stable, compliant, and future-proof. The mission is to create a highly secure work environment that efficiently supports clinical studies worldwide, enabling research teams to work protected and productively.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT, ideally in a regulated environment (e.g., GxP / Pharma / Life Sciences).
• Over 3 years of experience in administration and security of Microsoft 365 environments.
• Strong knowledge of Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune, Purview, and modern Cloud-Security architectures.
• Practical experience in designing and operating cloud platforms.
• Structured, documentation-strong, and audit-experienced working style.
• High degree of personal responsibility, pragmatism, and solution orientation.
• Good communication skills to convey technical contexts to all hierarchy levels.
• Fluent German and English skills, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Manage operation, security, and continuous development of the Microsoft 365 environment (Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Purview).
• Develop and optimize Identity & Access Management, security, and compliance concepts within Microsoft 365 and Azure.
• Design, secure, and operate modern cloud platforms with a focus on Azure.
• Implement security measures, monitor, analyze, and resolve security incidents.
• Participate in strategic IT projects (e.g., Cloud migrations, Modern Workplace Transformation).
• Assist with audits, create and maintain documentation, including system review and validation in GxP environments for compliance and data integrity.
• Support the development of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) according to ISO 27001.
