Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Technical Infrastructure Engineer. You will be at the heart of designing, implementing, and managing robust on-premises and cloud infrastructure solutions for our clients. Your hands-on expertise will ensure alignment with client needs, high resilience, and the meeting of all SLA commitments while maintaining profitability.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of proven experience managing on-premises infrastructure.
- Three or more years of hands-on experience in data centers, including installing, configuring, and cabling hardware.
- Proficiency with VMware Stack: vCenter Server, vSphere hosts, and VxRail hyper-converged infrastructure.
- Proficiency with Dell Technologies: PowerStore, PowerScale, Unity storage, and PowerEdge servers.
- Experience with Networking: Dell/Cisco network switches and Brocade/Cisco SAN switches.
- Strong experience with Core Services: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SMB, and NFS.
- Two or more years of experience managing public cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred, Azure acceptable).
- Ability to design solutions that balance technical excellence with commercial viability.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system resilience and automation.
- Full UK driving license and the right to drive in the UK.
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset.
- Desirable experience with Virtualization/VDI: Omnissa Horizon and VMware NSX-T.
- Desirable experience with Storage: Pure Storage and NetApp platforms.
- Desirable deeper experience with Public Cloud: AWS and/or Azure architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design infrastructure solutions and service delivery models to meet client requirements for resilience, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Review major new projects to maximize standardized solutions and ensure operational readiness.
- Administer and manage enterprise storage technologies, with a strong focus on Dell (PowerStore, PowerScale, Unity) and EMC platforms.
- Design, implement, and manage VMware virtualization and VDI environments, including vSphere, vCenter, VxRail, and NSX-T.
- Configure and manage network and SAN infrastructure, including Dell, Cisco, and Brocade switches.
- Support core infrastructure services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SMB, and NFS.
