Job summary

The IT Systems Administrator role is responsible for managing enterprise infrastructure across internal and client environments, with a focus on VMware, Windows Server, and Linux administration. Key responsibilities include administering VMware vSphere, troubleshooting Windows and Linux systems, and ensuring system reliability through monitoring and backup processes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of enterprise systems administration experience
• Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter
• Experience supporting production infrastructure in hybrid environments
• Experience administering Windows Server 2016 - 2025
• Working knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting
• Experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms
• Understanding of enterprise server hardware and infrastructure dependencies
• Foundational understanding of containers and Kubernetes
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Administer and support VMware vSphere, ESXi and vCenter environments
• Configure, patch, monitor and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux systems
• Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, certificates, service accounts
• Support enterprise server hardware, firmware, and storage infrastructure
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, capacity, and availability
• Manage enterprise backup and recovery processes
• Provide advanced Tier 2 / 3 support for infrastructure issues
• Use PowerShell, shell scripting and command-line tools to automate tasks
• Support the underlying Linux and VMware infrastructure used by containers
• Participate in disaster recovery exercises and scheduled maintenance
• Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks
• Contribute to team standards and support cross-training efforts
