Job summary
The Cloud DevOps Engineer supports NASA science projects on managed commercial cloud infrastructure, balancing core cloud operations with direct support for science customers. The role covers project onboarding and migration, infrastructure analysis and design, and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, deployment automation, and cloud security controls. Work is performed with a multi-cloud Agile team, primarily using AWS and Terraform, with Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and federal security standards such as FISMA and NIST also relevant.

Qualifications
- Hands-on experience and foundational familiarity with AWS
- Experience in Agile environments
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably Terraform
- Understanding of cloud security principles and experience implementing cloud security controls
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to create useful technical documentation
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Investigation through NASA
- Desired: experience with Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD platforms, automation frameworks, scientific computing, or multi-cloud architectures
- Desired: familiarity with FISMA, NIST, and cloud security compliance requirements
Responsibilities
- Support onboarding, migration, and cloud operations for science projects
- Analyze, design, and recommend operational cloud infrastructure for science requirements
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, deployment, and operational automation
- Apply cloud security best practices and support compliance with federal standards
- Collaborate with a multi-cloud Agile team to deliver scalable, secure cloud services
