JAMS Platform Engineer

Job summary

This hands-on engineering role drives the reliability, automation, and modernization of an enterprise JAMS workload automation platform. The engineer administers JAMS Scheduler components, develops Python and PowerShell automation and GitHub CI/CD solutions, improves monitoring and recovery, and modernizes batch orchestration. The role also applies AI to operational analytics, anomaly detection, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with JAMS Scheduler and workload automation.
• Python and PowerShell skills.
• Experience with GitHub or Git, CI/CD, and software engineering practices.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and systems integration.
• SQL Server and database troubleshooting skills.
• Windows Server and distributed application troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with monitoring, telemetry, and performance engineering.
• Exposure to AWS or other cloud technologies preferred.
• Practical understanding of AI/GenAI tools and willingness to apply them to operational engineering.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and administer JAMS Scheduler, including agents, executors, queues, resources, and job configurations.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, capacity, resilience, and observability.
• Lead troubleshooting, performance analysis, and root-cause investigations.
• Build proactive monitoring and automated recovery for schedulers, agents, queues, and batch workflows.
• Develop automation with Python, PowerShell, APIs, and scripting to reduce manual effort.
• Maintain GitHub-based source control, code review, and CI/CD practices.
• Migrate workloads from time-based to event-driven scheduling and simplify batch orchestration.
• Support upgrades, patching, regression testing, disaster recovery, and production readiness.
• Partner with batch operations, application, and infrastructure teams to onboard and optimize workloads.
• Work with the JAMS vendor on product defects, performance, and roadmap capabilities.
• Apply AI to operational analytics, anomaly detection, troubleshooting, and automation.
