(Junior) Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / Solace Broker Specialist (m/w/d)

Job summary

Schwarz Digits, the IT and digital division of Schwarz Gruppe, is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / Solace Broker Specialist. This role involves managing the global Solace Broker landscape, supporting customers with asynchronous interfaces, and contributing to the internal Solace community. The position focuses on driving automation, developing autonomous agents, and specializing in messaging protocols.

Qualifications

• Completed IT education (FiSi/FiAe) or IT degree.
• Several years of professional experience in an enterprise environment.
• Proficient German (at least C1 level).
• Fluent English for international coordination.
• High self-motivation and willingness to develop.
• Readiness to take on responsibility.
• Participation in on-call duty.
• Solid Kubernetes basics (containerization and application operation).
• Deep experience with Linux, Docker, and Podman.
• Strong understanding of modern Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience with Ansible.
• Practical knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem, ideally with tools like Traefik and ArgoCD (GitOps).
• Secure knowledge of network protocols, routing, and IT security (TLS, certificates) for global Event Mesh support.

Responsibilities

• Assume end-to-end responsibility for global Solace Broker landscape lifecycle management across all countries and divisions.
• Support internal and external customers with onboarding new asynchronous interfaces on the broker.
• Proactively engage in technical troubleshooting sessions for complex challenges.
• Serve as a pillar of the internal Solace community, assisting with technical questions.
• Ensure high code and configuration quality through pull request reviews for automated deployments.
• Advise development teams on selecting appropriate messaging patterns (Publish/Subscribe, Request/Reply, Queueing).
• Define governance policies for event usage within the company.
• Drive the development of the self-service platform.
• Transform existing partial automations into fully automated end-to-end processes.
• Concept and develop autonomous agents within the Solace Event Mesh context.
• Act as an expert for common messaging protocols and integration patterns, including AMQP, MQTT, REST, and JMS.
