Junior DevOps Engineer

Job summary

The Junior DevOps Engineer is responsible for assisting in the deployment and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and application environments, primarily utilizing AWS. Key responsibilities include supporting CI/CD pipelines with GitHub/GitLab, managing Docker containerization and Kubernetes deployments, and troubleshooting deployment issues across various environments.

• 1–2 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Operations, or a related technical role.
• Understanding and hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD technologies.
• Experience working in an AWS environment, including CI/CD pipelines and core AWS services.
• Experience with Docker and container-based technologies, with basic knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Git, GitHub and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and application environments primarily within AWS.
• Support and execute scheduled application deployments across Development, UAT and Production environments.
• Work closely with Application Development teams to build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows using GitHub/GitLab.
• Support Docker containerization and Amazon EKS/Kubernetes deployments.
• Assist with infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform.
• Troubleshoot build, pipeline, environment, Kubernetes and application deployment issues.
• Support and maintain AWS services including EKS, ECR, RDS, S3, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, Route 53 and Load Balancers.
• Configure, monitor and maintain application and infrastructure monitoring using Amazon CloudWatch and Splunk.
• Assist with application configuration, secrets management, IAM/access controls and AWS security best practices.
