Junior Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

This junior infrastructure engineering role supports the availability, security, and efficient operation of IT systems while developing infrastructure skills under senior engineers' guidance. Work includes monitoring capacity and performance, maintaining systems, supporting backup and recovery, cloud, datacentre and email services, endpoint protection, identity and access management, software deployment, and EUC patch management. The role also contributes to infrastructure and user documentation, asset management, change requests, and resolving issues during major service outages.

Responsibilities

• Support availability, capacity, and performance monitoring
• Assist with routine infrastructure maintenance
• Support backup operations, recovery, and restorations
• Assist with cloud, datacentre, and email system management under supervision
• Help ensure end-user devices are covered by endpoint protection
• Support identity and access management in line with defined policies
• Assist with software deployment and EUC patch management
• Maintain infrastructure and end-user documentation
• Follow asset management processes
• Support change request authoring under senior colleagues' guidance
• Assist with resolving technical issues during major service outages under senior engineers' direction
