Job summary
This junior engineer supports the management, modernization, and security of an operational technology (OT) environment alongside experienced engineers. The role includes helping upgrade Windows Server 2016 to Windows Server 2025 and migrate VMware 7 to VMware 8, applying CIS-baseline hardening, validating configurations and patches, and preparing security reports. It also supports a secure Windows 11 OT laptop setup and maintains clear technical documentation.

Qualifications
- MBO+ or higher education, or equivalent background in IT, infrastructure, system administration, cybersecurity, or a technical field.
- Interest in VMware, Windows Server, Windows 11, virtualization, OT infrastructure, and security.
- Willingness to contribute hands-on to upgrades, system administration, troubleshooting, and security.
- Careful working style, willingness to ask questions, and motivation to learn secure and reliable system administration.
Responsibilities
- Inventory the VMware and Windows Server environment.
- Support upgrades, migrations, test plans, change preparation, and rollback scenarios.
- Apply security hardening based on relevant CIS baselines.
- Verify secure system configurations through configuration checks, vulnerability scans, patch validation, and compliance reports.
- Help set up a secure Windows 11 OT laptop environment, including images, security settings, user permissions, logging, and endpoint protection.
- Document work, procedures, and system administration agreements.
