Job summary

This is a developmental role for a Junior Platform Engineer to support and improve Bud’s cloud infrastructure, focusing on building expertise in cloud engineering, automation, and software development. The role involves maintaining and optimising build and release processes, assisting with monitoring and troubleshooting, and gradually taking on more responsibility with guidance from senior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts (ideally Microsoft Azure, but AWS or GCP exposure is welcome)
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting language (e.g. PowerShell, Bash or Python)
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL
  • Awareness of CI/CD concepts and version control (e.g. Git)
  • A genuine enthusiasm for automation, infrastructure and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving
  • A willingness to learn, take feedback and develop technically over time
  • Familiarity with networking basics (DNS, firewalls)
  • Exposure to infrastructure as code, e.g. Terraform
  • Eligibility for SC Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain, monitor and support Bud’s Azure cloud environments
  • Assist with build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps
  • Support developers by helping investigate logs, application insights and platform issues
  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code work, with mentorship, as your confidence grows
  • Document processes and contribute to improving how the team works
  • Learn and apply best practice in security, reliability and automation
