Job summary
The Junior Release Engineer supports the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, assists with deployments across various environments, and collaborates with development and QA teams to deliver new features and releases. This role involves planning and executing software releases, monitoring deployments, resolving environment-related issues, and identifying automation opportunities.
Qualifications
- Experience in an IT, DevOps, or software environment (internship, placement, or junior role)
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms, ideally Azure
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g. Azure Pipelines)
- Exposure to version control systems such as GitHub
- Basic scripting skills (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, or similar)
- Understanding of web applications and software development fundamentals
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Responsibilities
- Support development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines)
- Assist with deployments across development, test, and production environments
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to deliver new features and releases
- Help plan and execute software releases, including rollback processes
- Monitor deployments and resolve environment-related issues
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes
