Job summary

This senior technical role leads the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise Kubernetes and container platforms, ensuring security, scalability, resilience, and alignment with infrastructure and cloud architecture standards. The architect defines highly available Kubernetes designs and operational practices, guides decisions on service mesh, storage, networking, and security, supports complex incidents, and maintains architecture documentation and guidance.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience designing and operating enterprise Kubernetes and container platforms
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, container orchestration, platform security, networking, and storage integration
  • Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and resilience design
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies, service meshes, observability, and platform governance
  • Ability to support complex technical escalations and provide architectural leadership
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • German proficiency at minimum B2 level
  • Swiss citizenship
  • Based in or regularly available within the Winterthur region

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and govern Kubernetes cluster architectures and container platform standards
  • Define and maintain highly available, resilient Kubernetes control-plane architectures
  • Lead architecture decisions on service mesh, storage, networking, security, and platform scalability
  • Establish operational patterns, governance frameworks, and best practices for containerized environments
  • Provide technical leadership for complex incidents, escalations, and platform challenges
  • Ensure platform security, compliance, reliability, and performance requirements are met
  • Align container platforms with enterprise architecture in collaboration with infrastructure, cloud, networking, storage, and security teams
  • Drive continuous improvement and adoption of emerging cloud-native technologies
  • Maintain architecture documentation, standards, and operational guidance
