Job summary
This customer-facing application engineering role helps enterprise customers adopt VMware Kubernetes Service (vKS) on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) for modern applications in private cloud. The work includes designing and validating architectures, leading technical discovery, workshops, and proof-of-concepts, and advising on Kubernetes adoption, CI/CD integration, scalability, security, and disaster recovery. The engineer also develops reference architectures and collaborates with sales, product management, and engineering to advance customer solutions and platform adoption.
Qualifications
- Experience in application engineering, consulting, or technical sales for enterprise IT, cloud, or application platforms.
- Strong container and Kubernetes expertise, including a leading distribution such as EKS, AKS, OpenShift, or Rancher.
- Strong knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, vSAN, and NSX.
- At least 8 years of technology experience, with depth in enterprise IT architecture, application modernization, or cloud-native platforms.
- Track record of delivering technical solutions and driving platform adoption with enterprise customers.
- Ability to communicate with technical and business audiences and collaborate with sales teams.
- Ability to identify challenges, design solutions, and explain their business value.
- Self-starter able to work effectively in dynamic environments.
- Telco, financial services, or LATAM specialization is a plus.
- Cloud-native or public cloud certifications, including AWS, Azure, or Red Hat RHCA/RHCE on OpenShift, are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Advise enterprise customers on designing, validating, and deploying vKS solutions on VCF.
- Align solution architecture with customer priorities in collaboration with field account teams.
- Lead technical discovery sessions, workshops, and proof-of-concepts.
- Partner with sales to develop proposals addressing modernization, workload placement, and operational transformation.
- Advise on Kubernetes adoption, CI/CD integration, scalability, security, and disaster recovery.
- Develop and share reference architectures, deployment patterns, and technical assets.
- Present technical solutions to architects and executive decision-makers.
- Track industry trends, competitor offerings, and enterprise requirements.
- Provide customer and field feedback to product management and engineering.
