Kubernetes Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Kubernetes Platform Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, automation, and operation of Kubernetes-based platform capabilities across the Network Cloud estate.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating Kubernetes platforms in production environments
• Experience deploying or operating platforms within private cloud or on-premises environments
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Ansible
• Strong networking fundamentals
• Experience with CI/CD, GitOps and automation practices

Responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance Kubernetes platform capabilities within BT private cloud environments
• Develop and maintain platform automation using Infrastructure as Code and software engineering best practices
• Implement and improve deployment, upgrade and lifecycle management processes for Kubernetes clusters and supporting services
• Integrate networking, monitoring, logging and security capabilities into the Kubernetes platform
• Support platform reliability through proactive improvement and troubleshooting
• Contribute to incident resolution and problem management activities for platform services
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to proof of concept activities
• Support the transition of new platform capabilities into production and drive continuous service improvement
