Lead AI Platform Engineer

Job summary

OUTFRONT is seeking a Lead AI Platform Engineer to own and evolve its internal AI platform (OUTGPT) and external agent infrastructure (Agency Connect MCP). This hands-on technical leadership role involves setting architectural direction, writing production code, and partnering with the CTO and VP of AI to advance the company's AI-native capabilities. The successful candidate will mentor a newly forming automation team and drive the integration of AI into OUTFRONT's operations.

• 7+ years building production backend or full-stack systems
• 2+ years building LLM-backed systems that real users depend on
• Experience operating agents and AI services in production
• Deep AWS experience
• Comfort with AWS Lambda, ECS, App Runner, RDS, IAM, and networking
• Proficiency in TypeScript/Node and/or Python
• Hands-on experience with agent frameworks and protocols (MCP, A2A, or equivalent)
• Strong API design instincts
• Experience owning a platform that other engineers built on
• Ability to translate fuzzy business problems into working systems

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the AI platform
• Write production code
• Set direction for the AI platform
• Partner with CTO and VP of AI
• Work with the automation team
• Take ownership of the internal AI platform (OUTGPT)
• Move OUTGPT into full production
• Build the roadmap for OUTGPT
• Expand model and agent capabilities of OUTGPT
• Integrate OUTGPT with internal data sources
• Evolve the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server
• Design and build shared agent infrastructure
• Evaluate, integrate, and operationalize new AWS AI capabilities
• Own technical decisions across the AI surface area
• Mentor the AI & Automation pod
• Review designs of team members
• Raise the ceiling of team members
