Job summary
Lead the strategy and architecture for scalable, reliable test automation across web applications, using Playwright and AI-first tools to improve test design, maintenance, and coverage. Establish automation standards, code review practices, CI/CD integration, and quality gates throughout the software development lifecycle, partnering with engineering, product, and DevOps teams. Provide technical guidance and support presales and client consulting engagements across Australia.

Qualifications
- Experience as a senior or lead QA automation engineer.
- Hands-on expertise in Playwright and/or AI-first automation tools for end-to-end and API testing.
- Experience applying AI or LLM tools to test generation, test maintenance, exploratory testing, test selection, or automation optimisation.
- Experience building and scaling automation frameworks in CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Ability to set technical direction and influence cross-functional quality practices as an individual contributor.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfort supporting client-facing presales or consulting discussions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and ongoing improvement of test automation across Playwright and AI-first tools.
- Use AI techniques for test generation, self-healing locators, test design, prioritisation, and automation coverage.
- Set standards for automation, code review, CI/CD integration, and quality gates across the software development lifecycle.
- Partner with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to embed automation and strengthen quality practices.
- Support client presales and consulting through technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, and proposal input.
- Provide technical guidance on QA automation strategy, tooling, and AI-enabled testing.
