Job summary

The Lead Automation Engineer is pivotal in shaping the test automation strategy for digital products and platforms. This role involves designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and Vitest, developing automated test suites with BDD and Gherkin, and leading Agile squads while mentoring team members to promote quality engineering practices.

Qualifications

• strong hands-on experience with Playwright, Vitest, JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• proven track record of designing and implementing successful automation frameworks
• deep knowledge of automated testing approaches
• experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• understanding of Agile delivery practices and modern software development principles
• effective leader and mentor

Responsibilities

• define and implement the automation strategy across multiple projects and products
• design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks
• develop automated test suites using BDD and Gherkin-based approaches
• work closely with engineers, Product Owners, and stakeholders
• lead automation delivery within Agile squads
• coordinate test execution, defect management, cross-browser testing, and reporting activities
• provide day-to-day guidance to both manual and automation testers
• define meaningful quality metrics
• improve testing processes
• drive improvements in application reliability, automation productivity, and delivery velocity
