Job summary

As a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the platforms that support our digital services. You'll help build secure, reliable and scalable cloud solutions that enable our teams to deliver high-quality care and support to customers. This is a leadership role where you'll guide technical direction, support colleagues and influence how we develop and operate our cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure, and automation
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers
• Confident working with deployment, monitoring, and configuration tools
• Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or similar)
• Understanding of security, reliability, and performance in cloud environments
• Clear communication and ability to work well with a range of stakeholders
• Proactive, solution-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build, and evolution of cloud-based platforms and infrastructure
• Set technical direction and support best practices for platform engineering
• Ensure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable
• Drive automation and continuous improvement of platform services
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams
• Support the delivery of applications by providing robust platform capabilities
• Monitor performance and respond to incidents to maintain service quality
• Coach and support other engineers, sharing knowledge and guidance
