Job summary

Kensington Mortgages is seeking a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to shape and deliver their Azure cloud platform within a regulated financial services environment. This hands-on role involves technical delivery, platform design, and mentoring, focusing on building and improving cloud services while influencing engineering standards and best practices. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to ensure secure, scalable, resilient, and regulatory-compliant solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build, and continuous improvement of Azure cloud platform services
• Deliver hands-on engineering across platform services, networking, identity, monitoring, and security
• Define and implement reusable cloud patterns and standards
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues
• Contribute to cloud architecture and design decisions
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and resilient
• Translate architecture into practical, supportable engineering delivery
• Support production of technical design documentation
• Lead development of Terraform-based infrastructure as code
• Build reusable modules and deployment standards
• Drive automation to improve consistency, efficiency, and auditability
• Support engineers in adopting infrastructure as code best practices
• Build and enhance Azure DevOps pipelines
• Improve automation testing and release processes
• Drive best practice in continuous delivery and deployment
• Support teams to deliver safely and consistently
• Ensure cloud platforms are secure by design and audit-ready
• Implement governance controls across identity, access, and monitoring
• Work closely with security, risk, and compliance teams
• Embed best practice across regulated environments
