Lead Cloud Platform Engineer

Job summary

Develops and manages technical solutions and infrastructure architecture, translating business needs and operational constraints into designs that support current and future organizational requirements. The role includes system research and testing, technology standards, vendor coordination, stakeholder requirements gathering, and mentoring engineers. It requires expertise in systems and infrastructure lifecycles, IT Service Management, server/client and virtual technologies, and financial services practices.

Qualifications

• At least eight combined years of higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, or architecture.
• At least eight years of professional technical engineering experience involving infrastructure design, data management and interchange, or complex system design and development.
• Strong understanding of systems development and infrastructure lifecycles, architecture, vendor best practices, IT Service Management, and systems design.
• Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured implementations.
• Advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to gather and analyze specifications and work with integrators, developers, and testers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and manage technical solutions.
• Conduct infrastructure architecture and design, systems research, and requirements analysis.
• Support unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Gather and clarify business requirements with stakeholders.
• Coordinate vendor interactions and resources.
• Mentor engineers, technicians, and integrators; review their documentation and proposed changes.
• Promote industry best practices, standards, and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of supported applications, systems, development environments, and vendor technologies.
• Follow risk and regulatory controls and escalate risk-related issues.
