Job summary

Allianz UK Personal is seeking a Lead Data Engineer (MLOps) to enhance their MLOps capability. The role involves defining technical direction, improving engineering practices, and mentoring Data Engineers while delivering cloud-based Data Science products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data/ML/Platform Engineering with MLOps expertise
• confident in Python and SQL programming
• experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• hands-on experience with cloud services for ML products
• able to design solutions for complex problems
• understanding of software development life cycle and methodologies
• comfortable with ambiguity and challenging status quo
• able to build relationships with stakeholders
• able to explain complex subjects to non-technical stakeholders
• familiar with data protection and relevant legislation

Responsibilities

• Define and drive MLOps standards across CI/CD, containerisation, monitoring, alerting, testing and deployment
• Write high quality, well-tested Python code for production pipelines and services
• Lead delivery and improvement of Data Science products supporting MLOps processes
• Implement best practices for Data Science products
• Mentor and develop Data Engineers
• Collaborate with business and technology teams
• Design and enhance scalable processes and workflows
• Champion Data Science and MLOps best practices
• Maintain data governance standards
• Identify opportunities for improvement and drive change
