The Lead Platform Engineer oversees data platform architecture and manages the data engineering team, translating strategic directions into technical designs and ensuring quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Around 4 years of experience in data or platform engineering
• Expertise in cloud platform design and secure data architecture
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Experience with production pipelines using PySpark or Spark
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and CI/CD
• Experience setting engineering standards and design patterns
• Proven track record in managing technical workstreams
• Experience mentoring or managing engineers
• Knowledge of regulated data requirements
• Effective communication skills
• Technical authority on platform and infrastructure decisions
• Experience in commercial and partner-facing discussions

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed technical designs for cloud infrastructure and data pipelines
• Define integration patterns and data flow designs
• Make implementation-level technology decisions
• Design scalable and secure platform architectures
• Maintain platform design documentation
• Evaluate emerging platform technologies
• Manage delivery of platform and data engineering workstreams
• Develop technical workplans for platform initiatives
• Manage data engineering team’s capacity
• Coordinate QA and testing for platform components
• Identify and escalate delivery risks
• Ensure timely delivery of platform workstreams
• Define engineering standards and design patterns
• Conduct architectural reviews of platform changes
• Contribute to build quality assurance process
• Design security architecture for platform components
• Provide technical expertise for partnership opportunities
• Support technical discussions with stakeholders
• Contribute to technical sections of proposals
