Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of experience in application development and systems analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
  • Recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in modern data engineering.
  • Passion for real-time data movement and data storage/access at rest.
  • Extensive, daily, hands-on experience with Kafka, MongoDB, and Couchbase.
  • Comprehensive understanding of how different areas of a business integrate to achieve strategic goals.
  • Proven ability to adjust priorities quickly and thrive in a dynamic, data-centric environment.
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Capable of articulating a technical vision to both engineers and stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications.
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.).
  • Master’s degree in a technical field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with management to define and integrate system enhancements, ensuring the data platform meets business goals and powers new data-driven products.
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex data systems, providing expert evaluation of business processes, system architecture, and industry standards.
  • Serve as the expert for the data platform, ensuring designs adhere to the overall architecture blueprint.
  • Lead the building of high-throughput, resilient data pipelines using Kafka.
  • Leverage advanced knowledge of system flow and data patterns to establish best practices for coding, testing, and implementation of data services.
  • Act as the authority on storing and accessing data at rest using NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Couchbase.
  • Act as a dedicated advisor and coach to mid-level developers and analysts, guiding their work and fostering growth.
  • Provide deep, interpretive analysis to define complex data challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Resolve high-impact problems through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
  • Provide expertise in applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.
  • Assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets.
  • Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, and applying sound ethical judgment.
  • Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency.
