Job summary
The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for driving the technical strategy and architecture for automation platforms and infrastructure automation capabilities. Key responsibilities include designing enterprise automation platforms, establishing Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform, and leading Kubernetes adoption while mentoring engineers and collaborating with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.
Qualifications
- Deep expertise in automation platforms and infrastructure provisioning
- Comfortable evaluating and implementing various technologies
- Naturally mentor others and elevate technical standards
- Strong experience with automation platforms such as Rundeck
- Advanced experience with Terraform
- Strong expertise with Kubernetes architecture
- Strong AWS background
- Experience designing and implementing GitOps workflows
- Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tooling
- Strong scripting/automation experience
- Solid Linux/Unix administration background
- Experience with monitoring tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers
Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and architecture for automation and infrastructure provisioning platforms
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of self-service capabilities
- Design and manage enterprise automation platforms and workflow orchestration solutions
- Establish and govern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
- Own the technical strategy for containerization initiatives
- Design and implement GitOps workflows
- Architect and manage AWS infrastructure
- Design and build serverless automation solutions using AWS Lambda
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks and APIs
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for automation issues
- Mentor and coach mid-level and junior engineers
- Partner with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs
- Own architecture documentation and knowledge base standards
- Contribute to capacity planning and cost optimization
- Support hiring and technical interviews
- Willingness to work shifting schedules
