Job summary
Leads a small DevOps and system administration team responsible for the stability, security, and scalability of infrastructure supporting data transformation workflows and a web-based user interface. The role spans bare-metal, MASH, and AWS environments, including Kubernetes deployments, Apache NiFi migrations, GitLab CI/CD, Elastic Stack observability, and NoSQL and graph databases. It also oversees secure development lifecycles, Cisco networking, system maintenance, and SSP accreditations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 14 or more years of experience, master’s degree and 12 or more years, or PhD or JD and 9 or more years.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Knowledge of AWS, bare-metal, and MASH environments.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, Podman, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Experience managing GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of the Elastic Stack, MongoDB, Redis, and graph databases such as DGraph.
- Experience with Cisco networking, CNO concepts, and SSP accreditations.
- Experience with Apache NiFi installations and migrations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor two system administrators.
- Collaborate with a team of more than 25 software engineers.
- Guide system design and infrastructure setup with software engineering teams.
- Manage development lifecycles and deployments across secure environments.
- Maintain EC2, MASH, and bare-metal servers, production systems, and development environments.
- Migrate Apache NiFi installations and other services from MASH to AWS.
- Architect AWS environments using EKS, ECS, Lambda, and Secrets Manager.
- Manage Kubernetes and Podman containerized environments.
- Oversee Cisco network configuration and performance.
- Maintain system security, CNO standards, and SSP accreditations.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, backups, and disaster recovery using the Elastic Stack.
- Maintain and optimize GitLab deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines.
- Administer and optimize Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis, and graph databases.
