Job summary

The Lead DevOps Engineer role focuses on shaping the DevOps strategy and acting as a technical product owner within the Digital Development and Operations team. Key responsibilities include managing a team, applying modern development standards, and implementing CI/CD pipelines using technologies such as Ansible and Terraform, while ensuring secure and scalable software solutions across AWS and Azure environments.

Qualifications

• Expert-level modern development standards, systems integration and service support
• Practitioner-level information security, systems design and programming
• Practitioner-level user focus
• Experience with cloud automation technologies (Ansible, Terraform)
• Experience acting as technical product owner for a project team or product line
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical boundaries

Responsibilities

• Acting as technical product owner and developing medium to long term strategies for product lines and CI/CD toolchain
• Applying expert knowledge of modern development standards to support complex projects
• Leading the sharing of knowledge and best practices across the DevOps engineering team
• Establishing and maintaining systems integration standards and procedures
• Providing expert-level service support
• Designing solutions with security controls included
• Driving continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process optimisation opportunities
• Managing service components to ensure delivery against business objectives and KPIs
