Lead Engineer - Platform Engineering

Job summary

Improve developer experience by designing, building, and operating reusable platform capabilities and Golden Paths that help teams deliver software and data products. Independently develop AI-assisted engineering capabilities across the software development lifecycle, including secure integrations, controlled workflows, evaluation, and human approval within tools such as IDEs, CI/CD, source control, and engineering portals. Apply security and governance controls, measure engineering outcomes, and enable consistent adoption through reusable patterns and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience on a platform team focused on developer experience.
• Hands-on engineering and DevOps experience, including Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Experience applying AI to the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with authentication and authorization protocols and patterns.
• Experience leading engineering teams through change.
• Ability to influence and communicate with stakeholders across IT and third parties.
• Experience working across complex business, technology, regulatory, partner, provider, or geographic environments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including explaining complex technical topics to support clear decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable AI platform components, including secure model and tool integrations, context-retrieval tools, controlled agent workflows, evaluation harnesses, and human-approval controls.
• Own platform capabilities from design and prototyping through coding, integration, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
• Implement least-privilege AI access, authentication, and data-protection controls; mitigate risks such as prompt injection and sensitive-data exposure.
• Create implementation patterns, playbooks, documentation, and reference solutions to support consistent adoption.
• Define metrics and run controlled experiments to assess engineering flow, quality, risk, and economic value.
