Job summary

This role leads and develops a DevOps team while shaping backend architecture and ensuring reliable application operations for mobility payment services. Responsibilities include building Java/Spring Boot services, deploying and operating workloads on AWS, managing infrastructure with Terraform, and overseeing testing, networking, monitoring, and compliance activities such as PCI DSS 4.0.

Qualifications

• Experience leading small development teams and supporting employees' professional development.
• At least 5 years of Java or Kotlin development experience, ideally with Spring Boot.
• At least 2 years of experience architecting, developing, operating, or migrating applications in AWS or a comparable cloud environment.
• Experience with container management and orchestration, such as Docker Swarm or Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Operations experience in network design, monitoring, and alerting.
• Strong knowledge of REST API design and implementation.
• Strong written and spoken German and English.
• Initiative, teamwork, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a DevOps team; mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate product feasibility with product management and product design.
• Design, implement, and optimize Java/Spring Boot backend architectures.
• Ensure code quality through unit and integration testing with JUnit and Mockito.
• Deploy and operate applications on AWS, including Docker, ECS, RDS PostgreSQL, and CloudWatch.
• Build, maintain, and monitor infrastructure using Terraform.
• Design networks and implement monitoring and alerting solutions.
• Support internal and external compliance and audit activities, including PCI DSS 4.0.
