Job summary

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase, you will play a crucial role in delivering infrastructure and performance excellence within Cloud Foundational Services. This position requires deep knowledge of software and technical processes, as well as the ability to manage projects and collaborate with engineering and product teams to drive improvements.

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
  • Strong experience supporting and operating workloads within Amazon Web Services (AWS), including hands-on knowledge of core services such as compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and database technologies in a production environment
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and cloud platform certification(s)
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
  • Familiarity with working in a large distributed system across a range of technologies including compute, databases, messaging, observability, and telemetry
  • Knowledge of incident, change, and problem management processes and the controls that govern them
  • Understanding of data-driven decision making and a drive to continue developing technical and cross-functional knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope
  • Drive a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
  • Work with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
  • Execute creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
  • Strongly consider upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advise on mitigation actions
  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and product supportability requirements
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure remediation and permanent closure of issues and to identify trending issues to drive product improvement
  • Demonstrate a high aptitude for both learning and teaching as product teams continually release new features and products
  • Provide follow-the-sun 24/7 on-call support through a distributed team spanning multiple time zones
