Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer builds, supports, and improves enterprise proxy-based security infrastructure, including Broadcom Proxy SG, Secure Web Gateway, Symantec Content Analysis Systems, SSL Visibility appliances, and Symantec Management Center. The role troubleshoots proxy issues, develops runbooks and standardized change processes, and collaborates with IT and business teams while providing technical guidance. It also uses validated, security-conscious AI-assisted workflows to support infrastructure analysis, documentation, and automation.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in infrastructure disciplines and at least five years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience installing, migrating, and decommissioning Broadcom Proxy SG, Secure Web Gateway (ISG), Symantec Content Analysis Systems (CAS), SSL Visibility appliances, and Symantec Management Center (SMC).
• Experience with SaaS secure gateway vendors such as Zscaler or Netskope.
• Ability to build, test, and deploy proxy-based security solutions.
• Understanding of network infrastructure, network security, HTTP/HTTPS, and vulnerability mitigation.
• Understanding of REST APIs and container-based deployment models.
• Understanding of version and revision control practices.
• Proficiency with SIEM tools for investigations.
• Ability to automate proxy environments using shell or Python scripts and Ansible playbooks.
• Expertise in network topology, VLANs, routing, switching, global and local load balancing, and firewalls.
• Experience using authorized enterprise AI capabilities in infrastructure workflows, with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
• Ability to review AI-assisted recommendations, escalate uncertainty, and ensure outcomes meet resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrate leadership and critical thinking, and contribute to end-to-end project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients and stakeholders, communicate expected completion dates, and manage expectations.
• Create and update engineering documentation and runbooks.
• Troubleshoot and support proxy issues.
• Coordinate with IT and business teams to align proxy solutions with organizational goals.
• Improve change management by developing standardized implementation templates.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Use authorized AI capabilities for infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and protecting sensitive operational data.
• Apply reuse-first, AI-assisted delivery and automation practices to identify recurring issues and evaluate remediations while maintaining auditability, resiliency, and security.
