Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Job summary

Leads the design, implementation, and support of cloud and infrastructure platforms, focusing on Microsoft Azure Landing Zones, governance, networking, automation, and platform modernization. The role builds Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Bicep, and PowerShell; supports hybrid connectivity, identity, and certificate services; and provides technical leadership for infrastructure projects, incident response, and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of progressive infrastructure engineering experience, including significant hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting Azure environments and Landing Zones.
• Experience with cloud governance and architecture best practices.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Experience with PowerShell, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of networking, including routing, VPNs, firewalls, DNS, load balancing, and network security.
• Experience with PKI, SSL/TLS certificates, certificate-based authentication, and certificate lifecycle processes.
• Experience leading infrastructure, cloud, or platform modernization projects.
• Experience with Entra ID, conditional access, Intune, and RBAC preferred.
• Experience with Azure monitoring, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery testing.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support Azure environments, including Landing Zones, subscription strategy, governance, policies, and resource organization.
• Lead cloud and infrastructure projects from planning through implementation and operational handoff.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and support cloud and hybrid networking, connectivity, routing, VPNs, firewalls, identity, and security solutions.
• Coordinate infrastructure requirements for SaaS integrations and multi-tier applications.
• Manage certificate services, including certificate lifecycle, renewals, and certificate-based authentication.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and connectivity issues.
• Provide technical leadership during incident response and root cause analysis.
• Maintain technical standards, procedures, documentation, architecture diagrams, and governance practices.
• Mentor colleagues and lead infrastructure initiatives.
