Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Proxy/SSE Network Security

Job summary

The Lead Software Engineer specializes in developing and implementing secure network security solutions, including Zero Trust Network Access and Identity-Aware Proxy systems. Key responsibilities involve creating high-quality production code, architecting security patterns, and driving operational excellence for perimeter and proxy services, utilizing technologies such as AWS Direct Connect and Cisco environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in network security, SASE, SSE, identity security
• Understanding of Zero Trust principles and secure egress
• Hands-on experience with proxy/gateway architectures
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows
• Experience in regional execution ownership in the US
• Experience supervising engineers and cross-team remediation
• Knowledge of network and perimeter security architecture
• Experience operating proxy and/or SSE capabilities at enterprise scale
• Experience translating security requirements into deployable patterns
• Knowledge of interconnect and colocation connectivity models

Responsibilities

• Execute network security software solutions and technical troubleshooting
• Develop secure high-quality production code and review code written by others
• Architect and implement Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) patterns
• Build and operate an Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP)
• Implement Secure Gateway / Secure Web Gateway (SWG) capabilities
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues
• Own the US perimeter, proxy, and SSE/SASE engineering roadmap
• Define and operationalize standards and reusable engineering patterns
• Provide engineering leadership across edge and connectivity adjacencies
• Establish governance mechanisms for remediation
• Drive operational excellence for perimeter, proxy, and SSE services
