Lead Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Lead Platform Engineer focuses on designing and implementing scalable platform solutions while ensuring security and reliability for enterprise-scale platforms. Responsibilities include defining reference architectures, leading client workshops, and automating multi-cloud environments using technologies such as Kubernetes, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code frameworks like Terraform.

Qualifications

• Ability to design and manage complex Kubernetes or Openshift clusters in enterprise environments
• Deep understanding of GitOps principles
• Proven hands-on experience with multiple IaC frameworks
• Expertise in supply-chain hardening and securing automated deployment pipelines
• Multi-Cloud Experience (AWS, GCP, Azure or hybrid environments)
• Ability to coach and mentor engineers
• Outcome-oriented, client-focused, hands-on
• Fluent in English and German

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of design, implementation, and security of scalable platform solutions
• Define reference architectures, module catalogs, and paved-road templates
• Lead client workshops and architecture discussions
• Design and implement advanced automation strategies for multi-team and multi-cloud environments
• Ensure compliance, security, and high availability for enterprise-scale platforms
• Drive thought leadership by contributing to meetups, conferences, and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives
• Own platform domains across multiple teams
