Lead Platform Engineer

Job summary

This senior, hands-on platform engineering role shapes and operates orchestration and developer platform solutions for Pensions & Savings technology services, creating secure, governed and scalable developer experiences. The work includes building reusable internal platform capabilities, golden paths and onboarding automation; administering GitHub and GitHub Copilot; and integrating GitHub Actions, infrastructure as code, artefact and container management, observability, cloud services, developer portals, Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and continuously improve secure, reliable and reusable internal developer platform capabilities for Pensions & Savings.
• Create and evolve golden paths and automated onboarding journeys
• Administer and improve GitHub and GitHub Copilot capabilities
• Develop robust platform automation using appropriate combinations of GitHub Actions, APIs, infrastructure as code and scripting
• Support secure artefact and container management
• Contribute to developer portal and self-service capabilities
• Embed security, identity, governance, compliance and observability into platform services and onboarding processes
