Job summary
TD Securities is seeking an experienced Hands-on Sr. Platform Engineer to work on innovative and transformational initiatives, specifically the implementation of the next generation Trading Risk Warehouse platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of a scalable, resilient, and high-performing PnL reporting platform, working with cutting-edge technologies to solve problems of scale and speed. This role involves leading a platform engineering team to identify and resolve system bottlenecks, automate maintenance tasks, and ensure the quality of deliverables.

Qualifications
- Proficient in programming for automation: Unix shell scripting, Python, or other programming languages.
- Networking and Linux administration experience.
- SQL proficiency.
- Experience with DevOps CI/CD tools, Git, and Jenkins.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
- Experience with Hadoop Cluster, Spark, and Hive system administration.
- Ability to manage large scale Web and ETL platforms.
- Cloud platform experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- People management skills.
- 8+ years in managing and supporting large scale and mission critical platforms.
- Experience in large scale platform migration initiatives.
- Strong experience with managing Hadoop platform including HDFS, Spark, and Hive.
- 8+ years' experience in Linux system administration.
- Experience in managing web and service/API platforms.
- Experience working with messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka).
- Experience with RDBMS, demonstrable fluency in SQL, and non-relational databases such as Cassandra (preferred).
- 6+ years of experience managing Git, CI/CD toolset (Maven), Jenkins, and working within an Agile environment.
- Experience in implementing and managing system monitoring tools.
- Experience developing and managing highly scalable and low latency systems.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a high performing platform, ensuring stability, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Manage underlying infrastructure, including hardware, software, and storage resources.
- Manage multiple environments (Prod/Pre-Prod/Lower environments) and ensure integration and stability.
- Streamline code promotion processes and improve developer productivity.
- Ensure the stability of the platform and TRW ecosystem.
- Optimize platform and address system bottlenecks.
- Analyze system issues and provide permanent solutions.
- Promote best practices and follow continuous integration and delivery.
- Drive transformation by automating existing processes and workflows.
- Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.
- Work closely with development and production operation teams to support needs, troubleshoot issues, and enhance the platform.
