Job summary

This senior-level site reliability engineering role improves system stability, performance, and operational resilience by connecting application behavior to infrastructure performance and identifying failure patterns before they affect customers. The engineer leads incident investigations and root cause analysis, strengthens observability across logs, metrics, traces, and events, and automates reliability improvements. They partner with application, platform, and infrastructure teams to reduce incident frequency and impact through data-driven prevention.

Qualifications

• Connect application behavior to infrastructure performance and failure modes.
• Bring expertise in observability, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools.
• Use scripting and automation to implement reliability improvements.
• Have broad infrastructure knowledge across networking, Linux, databases, containers, and storage, with depth in at least one domain.
• Analyze data and communicate technical insights clearly.
• Apply working knowledge of machine learning concepts to predictive operational problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Analyze application behavior, system signals, and incident history to identify reliability risks and failure patterns.
• Translate application knowledge into reliability requirements, architectural guidance, and infrastructure improvements.
• Lead and participate in troubleshooting high-severity, cross-domain incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis and turn incident findings into measurable preventative improvements.
• Design observability strategies and improve signal quality across logs, metrics, traces, and events.
• Build dashboards, alerts, and monitors that identify early signs of degradation.
• Automate operational work and reduce manual intervention, toil, and risk.
• Partner with application, platform, and infrastructure teams to improve reliability outcomes.
• Mentor engineers in proactive troubleshooting, systems thinking, and data-driven decision-making.
