Job summary

As a Site Reliability Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you will enhance the reliability and performance of customer-facing digital banking services. You will collaborate with diverse teams to implement automation, develop service metrics, and ensure systems are designed for reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering.
• Proven experience as a software engineer with proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience designing, coding, testing, and delivering software.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in distributed systems.
• Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer supporting production services.
• Knowledge of microservice infrastructure components.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud computing services.
• Familiarity with observability and reliability toolchains.
• Ability to use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement of reliability, monitoring, and alerting for microservices.
• Reduce operational toil through automation by building reliable infrastructure and tooling.
• Develop service metrics, user journeys, service-level indicators, and actionable alerts.
• Engage with development teams to design for reliability and scale.
• Design and implement self-healing and resiliency patterns.
• Partner across teams to promote reliability standards.
• Execute performance testing and capacity planning.
• Participate in feature planning to ensure reliability needs are met.
• Use AI tools for root-cause analysis and documentation.
• Continuously develop relevant AI skills.
