Linux Infrastructure Engineer / Linux System Engineer (m/w/d)

Job summary

Responsible for operation, administration, and development of Linux systems, ensuring infrastructure stability and performance. Automate tasks, support deployment processes, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in Linux system administration
• Good knowledge of network technologies like TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalls
• Experience with shell scripting (e.g., Bash)
• Knowledge in Docker hosting, imaging, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and backup/recovery concepts
• Experience with virtualization or cloud infrastructures
• Structured and independent working style with problem-solving skills
• Basic knowledge of Windows administration and willingness to support Windows operations
• Very good German or English skills and good knowledge of the other language

Responsibilities

• Operate, administer, and develop Linux systems (Ubuntu/Debian)
• Ensure stability, performance, and availability of infrastructure
• Manage and optimize on-premise and cloud environments
• Automate recurring tasks and processes using scripting
• Develop monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
• Analyze and resolve system disturbances sustainably
• Support deployment processes and provision test and production environments
• Participate in IT security topics like patch management and access control
• Assist in Windows administration for troubleshooting and maintenance
• Collaborate with software development and interdisciplinary teams
