Job summary
The Machine Learning Engineer bridges machine-learning proof-of-value projects and secure, enterprise-scale production, integrating AI solutions into business applications and supporting internal data scientists. The role covers deployment on on-premises OpenShift AI and GCP, CI/CD pipelines, GenAI and RAG integrations, model and API monitoring, data-drift detection, and compute optimization. The technology stack includes Python, Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, PostgreSQL with pgvector, Elasticsearch, FastAPI, and GitLab CI/CD.

Qualifications
- Three to four or more years of full-time, post-graduate industry experience in machine-learning engineering, MLOps, or software engineering.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Artificial Intelligence.
- Advanced Python skills and knowledge of standard software engineering practices.
- Autonomous, collaborative approach to bridging data science and IT.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Marignane and Donauwörth.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IT teams to transition machine-learning models from proof of value to production on on-premises OpenShift AI and GCP.
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for code quality and secure deployments.
- Integrate chatbots, large language models, and predictive APIs into business applications.
- Develop data ingestion pipelines for RAG architectures using search engines and vector or graph databases.
- Monitor model health, API performance, and data drift with dashboards.
- Optimize CPU and GPU resources for infrastructure cost efficiency.
- Create Docker and Git starter templates for data science projects and maintain optimized environments.
- Resolve complex dependency issues and provide tooling support to data scientists.
- Coordinate between international innovation teams and local IT teams, translating compute needs into IT architecture specifications.
- Ensure AI projects comply with cybersecurity standards.
