Job summary
As a Mainframe CICS System Administrator at Kyndryl, you will design, build, manage, and modernize mission-critical technology systems. This role involves solving complex problems, identifying potential future issues across platforms and services, and working with new technology and modernization for major clients. The position requires living in or around Phoenix, AZ, and being onsite three days a week.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Mainframe CICS
- Proven experience in CICS System Administration environment with work management, user management, journal management, and performance management
- Experience in CICS transaction server and related ISV products
- Capable of upgrading, installing, and migrating CICS Transaction servers
- Capable of upgrading, installing, and supporting IBM and ISV related products
- Proficient in technologies like P2V, V2V, and P2P migrations
- Proven experience with CICS functionality and architecture
- Basic knowledge of z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM, and third-party products
- Knowledge of Assembler, COBOL, CICS, and DB2
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Ability to follow a project through to completion or work as part of a larger team on complex projects
Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, and maintain CICS Transaction Server environments
- Apply patches (PTFs), manage version upgrades, and perform regression validation
- Configure and maintain CICS regions (production, test, DR)
- Maintain startup parameters and system initialization tables (DFHSIT)
- Monitor transaction performance and system health using tools like OMEGAMON, MainView, TMON
- Analyze transaction response times, CPU utilization, and storage usage
- Perform tuning to eliminate bottlenecks
- Participate in on-call rotation with engineering teams
