Manager, Engineering - Platform Engineering

Job summary

Wavelo is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the Platform Foundations team, focusing on defining engineering standards and foundational components for a cloud-native telecom platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with proficiency in Golang or similar languages
• Experience with event-driven and async architectures
• Background in platform or infrastructure engineering
• Experience defining engineering standards at an organizational level
• Strong DevOps sensibility
• Experience managing or mentoring engineers
• Comfortable with ambiguity and incomplete requirements

Responsibilities

• Evolve and standardize foundational architecture for a cloud-native telecom platform
• Own developer experience: build tooling, CI pipeline performance, and dependency management
• Govern shared UI component standards and design system practices
• Establish and maintain engineering standards: RFCs, ADRs, architecture reviews
• Define observability standards with Operations and SRE
• Champion AI-first development practices
• Manage and develop a team of senior engineers
