Job summary
The Manager, Platform Engineering - Digital Integration sets goals and objectives for the team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining digital technology infrastructure. This role oversees project delivery, coordinates cross-functional collaboration, and allocates resources effectively. The manager also leads the team in implementing best-in-class industry standards to continuously improve the development process.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
- Typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
- Proven experience leading middleware technology platforms for large global organizations
- Experience managing platform engineers
- Experience influencing stakeholders
- Experience defining platform roadmaps
- Experience influencing product vendors
- Experience negotiating software contracts
- Ability to define the vision and roadmap for the developer platform
- Ability to align platform vision with business goals for scalability and security
- Ability to own and deliver platform strategy
- Ability to drive automation
- Experience hiring, coaching, and managing a team of platform engineers
- Ability to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration
Responsibilities
- Set goals and objectives for the team in designing, developing, and maintaining digital technology infrastructure
- Oversee project delivery, planning, and prioritization
- Coordinate collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Allocate resources effectively and efficiently
- Lead the team to implement best-in-class industry standards for development process improvement
- Oversee implementation and delivery for Digital Integration, including resource allocation
- Lead the team in applying internal software deployment platforms for Digital Integration
- Implement continuous integration or continuous delivery pipelines
- Utilize twelve-factor development methodology to automate deployment processes
- Lead rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to industry standards for software quality
- Suggest and implement continuous improvement initiatives for software development and deployment processes
- Apply test-driven development as needed for operational excellence
- Coordinate collaboration with product managers, designers, and other cross-functional teams to gather requirements
- Set priorities and deliver resolutions to meet business objectives
- Lead and review the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for software applications
- Lead technical support and troubleshooting for deployed applications to minimize downtime
- Maintain partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Manage team members to achieve organizational goals
- Ensure team productivity and communicate performance expectations
- Provide coaching, measure progress, and hold team members accountable
