Job summary

The Manager, Site Reliability Engineering leads technical direction and cross-functional reliability initiatives for a large-scale authentication platform, focusing on scalability, resilience, and engineer development. The role includes participating in 24/7 on-call rotations, troubleshooting critical incidents, improving monitoring, alerting, and automation, and embedding reliability practices into engineering and architectural decisions. The environment uses AWS or Azure, Terraform, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, databases, and Go or Python.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on leadership in SRE or software engineering in cloud-native environments.
• At least 8 years of total industry experience.
• Expertise with AWS or Azure and Terraform.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, microservices, and databases.
• Strong programming skills in Go or Python.
• Ability to build and lead high-performing, globally distributed teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic vision, technical depth, and a commitment to mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Set the SRE team's technical direction and translate organizational goals into actionable roadmaps.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives across product and platform teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot and remediate critical incidents.
• Improve infrastructure resilience through monitoring, alerting, and automation.
• Establish reliability practices that embed observability and resilience into engineering work.
• Mentor SRE engineers through pair programming, design discussions, and code reviews.
• Represent reliability in architectural reviews and strategic planning.
