Job summary
Designs, builds, manages, and improves secure, scalable data science platforms in a complex on-premise environment. The role covers Kubernetes platform engineering, GitOps deployments with ArgoCD, CI/CD and infrastructure automation, and observability using tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana. It also applies SRE and security practices, supports incident response, and contributes to team knowledge sharing.

Qualifications
- HBO or WO-level education, preferably in software development, computer science, or a related field.
- Excellent Dutch communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile teams and innovative environments.
- At least 2 years of DevOps experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with Linux distributions, containerization and Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, and automation and CI/CD.
- At least 1 year of experience with GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD, observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, and Python and/or Go.
- Experience with complex IT systems troubleshooting.
- Experience with defense or operational environments, data science platforms or GPU workloads, on-premise infrastructure, or container security is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, manage, and develop a robust, scalable, and secure platform landscape.
- Design, implement, and manage improvements to Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Configure application and platform deployments with ArgoCD, including multi-environment setups, synchronization strategies, and rollback scenarios.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate infrastructure and platform components.
- Configure monitoring and observability to track reliability and performance.
- Apply SRE practices, support incident response, and facilitate blameless postmortems.
- Apply security hardening, network policies, and secrets management.
- Share knowledge and continuously improve the platform.
