Job summary

Pre*** is seeking a Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer to design and build scalable infrastructure for post-training research on large language models. The role involves developing core ML framework primitives, evaluation infrastructure, and collaborating with research engineers to meet their infrastructure needs.

Qualifications

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production-grade infrastructure
  • Proficiency in core ML frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX
  • Understanding of distributed systems principles and hands-on experience with cloud platforms
  • Experience with data engineering tools and building scalable data pipelines
  • Familiarity with LLM training/inference internals is a plus
  • Ability to balance production rigor with fast-moving research and communicate tradeoffs

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and scale the compute, scheduling, and data infrastructure for post-training research
  • Develop and maintain core ML framework primitives and internal tooling for reproducible experimentation
  • Build evaluation and benchmarking infrastructure, monitoring, logging, and debugging tooling
  • Partner with Research Engineers to translate research needs into infrastructure requirements
