Job summary
This Site Reliability Engineer owns the production compute, networking, and storage infrastructure supporting consumer, API, enterprise, and agentic workloads. The role operates Kubernetes clusters across a multi-account AWS estate, manages infrastructure with Terraform and CI/CD, and drives reliability through SLOs, incident response, disaster-recovery testing, capacity planning, and automation.
Qualifications
- Deep AWS expertise, including VPC, IAM, EC2, EKS, ELB, Route 53, S3, and EBS.
- Experience operating production Kubernetes at scale, including cluster upgrades, CNI, CoreDNS, autoscaling, and node troubleshooting.
- Advanced Terraform experience, including module design, multi-account state management, refactors, and imports.
- Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, load balancing, and routing.
- Ability to write automation, tooling, and controllers in Python, Go, or Rust.
- Experience using Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana to create meaningful SLOs and alerts from metrics, logs, and traces.
- Track record of leading production incidents and turning root-cause analysis into lasting fixes.
- End-to-end problem ownership and effectiveness in ambiguous environments.
Responsibilities
- Own availability, latency, and cost for production compute, networking, and storage.
- Operate and upgrade EKS clusters; tune scheduling, autoscaling, node lifecycle, DNS, and service networking.
- Design and operate VPCs, Transit Gateway and PrivateLink connectivity, load balancing, DNS, and egress across accounts, regions, and cloud providers.
- Manage storage and data services, including performance, durability, backups, and tested restores.
- Manage infrastructure through Terraform and CI/CD, with reusable modules, guardrails, and safe rollback processes.
- Define SLOs and actionable alerts; design for zone and regional failures and run disaster-recovery exercises.
- Lead incident response, write blameless postmortems, and implement durable fixes.
- Plan capacity, quotas, reservations, and infrastructure costs for launches and traffic growth.
- Build self-service automation for provisioning, upgrades, and remediation.
