Job summary
Lead an enterprise Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) proof of concept for a federal government environment, assessing performance and designing a scalable, secure production solution. The role covers AVD deployment across development, test, and production; FSLogix and identity integration; Azure infrastructure governance; and automation using PowerShell and infrastructure-as-code tools. It also includes image and application packaging, performance and cost optimization, security hardening, and operational transition.
Qualifications
- Australian citizenship is required for security clearance and client compliance.
- Proven experience leading proof-of-concept initiatives and designing full-lifecycle enterprise AVD solutions.
- Hands-on experience with FSLogix, role-based access control, and Entra ID or Active Directory integration.
- Strong knowledge of Azure virtual machines, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, and Intune.
- Hands-on automation experience with PowerShell, Bicep, ARM Templates, Terraform, or Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Experience establishing gold image standards, application packaging, and automated maintenance processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the AVD proof of concept, evaluate performance, and design the target enterprise solution.
- Define host pool strategies, image standards, FSLogix configurations, application delivery, and identity integrations.
- Deploy and maintain AVD host pools across development, test, and production environments.
- Govern supporting Azure compute, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, and endpoint management services.
- Build automation scripts and deployment pipelines using PowerShell, Bicep, ARM Templates, Terraform, or Azure DevOps.
- Manage gold images, patching workflows, and application packaging and delivery.
- Optimize performance, session density, auto-scaling, and cost; harden security and support operational handover.
