MLOps Architect

Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking an MLOps Architect to design and govern their Kubeflow-based MLOps platform on Azure, collaborating with various teams to ensure system reliability and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Kubeflow internals and Kubernetes architecture
• Strong architectural experience on Azure
• Proven experience leading platform upgrades with minimal disruption
• Advanced CI/CD, GitOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code experience
• Experience designing observability, governance, and FinOps frameworks
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end architecture of the Kubeflow-based MLOps platform
• Establish platform standards for scalability, security, reliability, and multi-tenancy
• Drive the roadmap for new MLOps capabilities
• Plan and execute Kubeflow and Kubernetes version upgrades
• Evaluate and introduce new Kubeflow components and tools
• Ensure backward compatibility and migration strategies
• Design advanced CI/CD and GitOps workflows
• Standardize environment promotion for ML workflows
• Define best practices for infrastructure-as-code
• Architect platform-wide observability
• Implement governance controls for access and data usage
• Ensure compliance with security standards and governance policies
• Design and operate cost attribution models
• Partner with Finance and Business teams for cost visibility
• Drive cost optimization strategies
• Act as technical advisor to various teams
• Collaborate with Business stakeholders to align platform capabilities
• Mentor junior MLOps engineers
